Bennett Lewis is a Nashville (formerly Athens, GA) based multi-instrumentalist, as well as lead guitarist and backing vocalist for Sony Columbia recording artist, Maren Morris. A 2011 graduate of the University of Georgia, Bennett cut his teeth in the diverse Athens music scene, performing at local venues and collaborating with fellow Athens artists. Bennett is a proficient session musician and experienced guitar instructor.
Originally from Ponte Vedra, Florida, Bennett began playing guitar at nine years old. At fifteen, he placed second in a city wide search for the “Guitar God of Jacksonville.” He accepted a scholarship to the Berklee College of Music and spent a summer studying in Boston when he was seventeen. His desire to create music and surround himself with like-minded artists led him to continue his education in the musical mecca of Athens, Georgia. After six years in Athens, Bennett made the move to Tennessee and has since established residency in East Nashville
Bennett has recorded with a number of artists and bands, including Kevin Barnes, of Montreal, Foxygen, The Milk Carton Kids, Orenda Fink, Ruby Amanfu, and Lera Lynn. Bennett draws his inspiration from a myriad of musical styles, comfortably performing many genres, including blues, country, bluegrass, folk, rock, and jazz. He is available for sessions and demos.
